How do I add a rate card template?

Create Templates That Determine What Rates Are Collected From Contractors.

To create templates, users must first ensure they have the rate card template manage permission enabled.

- Rate card templates allow admin users to set up what type of rates they need the contractor to provide, for example, morning and evening rates, or public holiday rates

- This means that every time a new rate card is added, these fields will need to be populated

- To get started, head to the Settings area and select 'rate card templates'

- From here, users will see a list of any existing templates, or they can add a new template in the top right

Setting up a simple template

- A simple template means there are few variables that affect the contractor's rate

- In this example, the rates will be determined only by whether the contractor is within their working hours or not

- Hit 'add template' in the top right

- Within the form, give the template a name and choose whether you want it to be enabled or not

- You can then choose whether you want to set the template as the default template - this means that any new contractors onboarded will use this template

- You can learn about changing the default template for a specific contractor here

- Next, within the schedule section, we will select contractor working hours as this is the only variable that determines rate changes

- With that in mind, we can skip the dimensions section as we don't need to add any and hit 'create template'

Setting up a template using time periods

- Select create template and again give the template a name, an enabled status and set the default if needed

- From here, if you want to collect rates that vary by time period, we can select 'time periods' within the schedule section of the form

- Here, you can hit add time period and give it a name, and then select which days of the week you want to be included within that period

- For example, we may call the time period weekday mornings and select Mon-Fri

- You can then set the specific time for that period, so using our example above, we may enter 09.00 as our start time and 12.00 as our end time

- Once you're happy with the entries, you can hit 'add period'

- You can then follow the same steps as above to create the template

Should your rates vary by public holidays, you can select this as an option when adding a new time period

Setting up a template using dimensions

You can find out how to set up Site Rate Types here.

- Should your rates vary depending on Site Rate Type or SLA, then you can utilise the final 'dimensions' section of the form

- Here, you can set the template up using the above information

- Once you have reached the dimensions section, you can then select the toggle for 'use primary dimension' and choose the dimension type from the dropdown, for example 'site type'

- You can then multi-select the relevant values that you need contractors to provide rates for. For example, if we have selected a dimension of 'site rate type' then we select each type we want a rate for, such as college, hospital or school

- Should you want to use a secondary dimension, you can toggle the 'secondary dimension' field and follow the same steps as above
