Creating Your Start Work Checks

Users must first have the Start Work Checks Manage permission enabled

- To get started creating your start work checks, head to the Settings area and select Start Work Checks

- From here, you will see the following three tabs: Induction Tasks, Hazard Task Lists and Safe To Proceed Tasks

- Within the Induction Tasks tab, you can add tasks using the button on the right and add any necessary external links that correlate to the tasks, such as external registers or maps

- Any tasks added within the Induction Tasks section will be asked on every work order within in a workflow that has Start Work Checks enabled

- Moving to the Hazard Task Lists tab, here you are able to add tasks associated to a particular hazard

- By selecting the Add Hazard Task List button on the right, you can select a hazard from the dropdown and add the relevant task to associate to the hazard

- If the hazard you are looking for isn't shown within the dropdown, you can add the hazard to the system by following the steps detailed in this article

- Once a task list exists for a hazard, these questions will be asked prior to work commencing on any work order that has this hazard associated to it

- The final section within this area is the Safe To Proceed Tasks

- Any tasks added in this final section will be asked on every work order within in a workflow that has Start Work Checks enabled

It is important to note, when completing a Start Work Check, all questions in the Safe To Proceed section must be answered 'Yes' in order for the Start Work Check to pass and for work to be able to commence. Please bear this in mind when phrasing your questions within this section. For example, instead of asking 'Are there any additional risks?' the question might be 'Have all risks been indicated?'

Completing Start Work Checks

- Engineers will be asked to complete a start work check once they have checked into a work order, if that work order is within a workflow that has the checks set up

- From here, engineers will move through the aforementioned sections

- Within the hazard section, they will see any pre-selected hazards prepopulated, and they will also be able to add any additional hazards they have identified and answer the checks that correlate to them

- Within the Safe to Proceed section, the engineer must mark all answers as Yes in order to be able to start the service

- If the final section fails, an email notification will be triggered and the engineer will be unable to start the service

Viewing Start Work Checks

- Users can view completed start work checks under the Health & Safety tab on a work order

- Here, users can clearly see the status of the checks and view each check individually should they wish to see the answers to each question
