How do I manage language & translation on the platform?

To get started, users must have:
Language manage permission enabled
the following configuration variables set to true:
Feature Flag New Translation Enabled
Language Manage - you can enable and disable languages on the site
Translation Manage - you can manage semi-dynamic translations
Translation Import - you can import translations
How Translation Works on the Site
Large parts of the app operate using static translation. This is dependant on the language set under user. The rest is populated by the semi-dynamic content below.
Configuration Settings
- Admin users can configure translations for custom settings such as:

- Asset categories
- Cost codes
- Site Types
- Navigation Items
- Service Types
- Work Order Types
- Document Types
- Building Types
- Under the languages area, users can view enabled languages and use the toggle to show those that aren't enabled
- To enable a language users can select the record and check enabled
- From here, users can then head to the Translations area
- Users can toggle between available languages within the dropdown
- Users can use the second dropdown to display fields for different areas of the system, such as Asset Categories or Work Order Types
- Users can enter translated values within each field as necessary
To use AI here, users must set the following configuration variable to True:
Feature Flag Ai Translation
- Should users have AI enabled here, they can select generate with AI on the right
- From here a side pane will open where the user can hit start to begin generating translations with the AI
- Users can also import translations
- To do this, they can select the actions wheel and hit import where a modal will appear
- From here, users can select the import type, and the modal will display instructions on what is required in each field of the template as well as which fields are mandatory
- Users can then select download template and amend as needed
- Once complete, they can re-upload the template in the file upload area
Set Locale/ Language on a user
- Head to Settings and find the Users area
- From here, select the relevant user and head to the Notifications & Preferences tab
- Scroll to find the Locale field where you can enter the relevant value
- Locale focusses on the formatting of numbers
- Users can also set the language field here
- This will tailor what language the users views static content in
Engineer App
- Users can change the language of the app on the welcome screen in the top right corner
- Here they can select the current language abbreviation, and choose their desired language from the list
