Product Release 3.55

What's New At Expansive This Month?

This release introduces more flexible rate card management, and improved cost handling. Together, these enhancements help customers increase pricing accuracy, strengthen auditability, and simplify contractor billing workflows.

🧾 Enhanced Rate Cards

Rate cards are now more flexible and easier to manage across sites and contractors.

What’s new:

  • Site Rate Types can now be created and managed in settings, then assigned directly to sites.

  • A new Rate Card Templates area allows users to:

    • Create and manage reusable templates

    • Add dimensions and time periods to templates, so contractors can offer more specific rates depending on certain variables
    • Set a default template that automatically applies to newly added contractors

💼 Cost Lines, Markups & Evidencing

We’ve enhanced cost management with improved markup handling and stronger evidencing controls.

Markups

  • A new Markups tab has been added to the contractor view.

  • Users can:

    • View existing markups

    • Add new markups

    • Specify whether a markup requires evidencing

Evidencing Controls

  • Contractors can upload evidence at multiple stages of the work

  • Costs cannot be submitted if required evidence is missing, ensuring stronger compliance and audit readiness

🔧 Expanded Cost Types

The billing process now supports two additional cost types:

  • Subcontractor costs

  • Equipment hire

This provides greater flexibility and accuracy when capturing real-world job costs.

General Platform Improvements 🔧

Planned Work Template Schedule Import/ Export Improvements 📆

We’ve improved the Planned Work template import/export to better support bulk updating by adding several new columns. These include options to skip service requests and automatically submit costs, as well as a read-only Site Currency column that appears after the location field. We’ve also introduced new cost type fields, covering unit price, quantity, tax rate, and description, giving you more flexibility and control when managing planned work data at scale.

Ability to Hide Site Access Times 🏣

We’ve enhanced site access times by introducing a new option to hide them and adding an optional field called Access Instructions for Contractors. This allows users to provide clear access details for contractors, which will be displayed across relevant notifications and within the user interface where needed.

Cost Auditing Rule Violation Display on Bulk Approvals ✋

We’ve improved the bulk cost approval experience by making cost auditing rule violations more visible and easier to manage. When selected work orders contain any violations, a yellow warning banner will now appear above the list to alert users. Work orders with violations are highlighted, and detailed violation information is shown against each cost line when a row is expanded. To further support review and control, new filters have been added for Has Cost Auditing Violations and Cost Auditing Rule Type, making it easier to identify and act on potential issues.
